It would be fair to call this a vineyard in transition. It was the basis of success for a Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Musque specialty winery and achieved excellent results with wine scores in the 90 point range a decade ago. However, the Red Hills AVA has become known for wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon which is a more valuable and sought after varietal. The current owner began rebuilding the vineyards and farming infrastructure several years ago and has significantly increased the yields with the assistance of Mark Welch and his crews from Welch Vineyard Management Services. The logical progression would be to continue the T-budding of the more than 33 acres of Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Musque that remain. The Tempranillo, Semillon, and Petite Syrah grapes have existing buyers.
